Amendments

1988—Subsec. (a). Pub. L. 100–707 designated existing provision as par. (1) and added par. (2).
1980—Pub. L. 96–446 designated existing provisions as subsec. (a) and added subsec. (b).

Deadline for Issuance of Regulations

Section 113 of title I of Pub. L. 100–707 provided that: “Regulations necessary to carry out this title and the amendments made by this title [see Short Title of 1988 Amendment note set out under section 5121 of this title] shall be issued no later than the 180th day following the date of the enactment of this Act [Nov. 23, 1988].”
